Although it feels very far removed from civilization, Black Desert House is within short drives of the services and attractions that guests most often seek — including stores and restaurants in Yucca Valley, historic Pioneertown (including wildly popular Pappy & Harriet’s) and only 45 minutes to Palm Springs with its shops, cultural attractions and nightlife.
The largest draw for the High Desert is undoubtedly Joshua Tree National Park. Slightly larger than the state of Rhode Island, JTNP’s nearly 800,000 acres offer endless sightseeing, walking and climbing opportunities. And the west entrance to the park is 20 minutes from Black Desert House.
